OBTAINING INFORMED CONSENT FOR REHABILITATION
The course will cover legal and ethical issues surrounding written and verbal informed consent. Policies about obtaining informed consent, interviewing patients and explanations to patients/family about risks and benefits of assessments and interventions will also be covered.

DOCUMENTING INFORMATION
This course will focus on management of information. This will include policies and procedures for collection, storage and access to the information. Documenting, organizing and filing of information will also be addressed.

CONDUCTING REHABILITATION ASSESSMENTS
This course will cover data collection during patient assessment, outcome measures, impact of health/personal/environmental analysis relevant to scope of practice, methods of scoring standardized assessments relevant to scope of practice and interpretatio of assessment results for purpose of diagnosis.

DEVELOPING AND ADAPTING REHABILITATION PLANS
This course covers priorities/desired outcomes of a person/family, intervention options relevant to scope of practice, frequency/duration of interventions, care pathway, methods of constructing rehabilitation plan and setting/reviewing goals.

REFERRING TO OTHER PROVIDERS
This course will cover providers/consideration for referral, costs/logistics for accessing providers, referral pathways, managing handover requirements and writing referrals.

IMPLEMENTING REHABILITATION INTERVENTIONS
This course will cover intervention options, evidence base for interventions, risks associated with interventions, indications and contraindications of interventions, modes of interventions, emerging technologies, methods of adapting and grading interventions.

EVALUATING PROGRESS TOWARDS DESIRED OUTCOMES
This course will cover expected trajectory of functioning, consideration for selection of outcome measures, intervals for evaluating progress and interpreting/reporting outcome measures.

DISCHARGING AND ENSURING APPROPRIATE CONTINUITY OF CARE
This course will cover determining discharge readiness/degree of support required after discharge, approaches to facilitating self-management, transition of care, discharge report, transfer of information on discharge and managing handovers.
